learn the history

Wine making has been around for thousands of years across many cultures. Evidence of ancient winemaking has been found in China, Iran, Sicily, Greece, Rome, Israel, Egypt, and many other countries, dating back to before 6000 BCE. With the advent of international trade, wine making spread around the world.

what is it?

Wine is an alcoholic beverage made most often from the fermented juice of grapes. Although any fruit capable of being fermented can be used for making wine, grapes are by far the most popular. The specific grapes used in wine making are different than the grapes we eat, known as table grapes. Wine is different than beer in that beer is brewed with fermented grains.

make It

There are several steps in the wine making process. They include selecting the type of grape, harvesting the grapes after a suitable time, crushing and pressing them, allowing them to ferment, clarifying the wine by removing all the insoluble elements, then aging and bottling the wine. Whether you’re brand new to wine making or a seasoned hand, we have the space, equipment, and expertise to help you learn or improve your craft.

unique to you

Variations in any step of the process can significantly affect the nature of your wine and make it uniquely your own, with its own character and taste. We’ll help you learn the techniques of wine making so you can create a vintage all your own.

Beer Classes
